Bilingual Spanish Sex Offender
Group
| Alpha has available an
outpatient sex offender group for adult men whose primary or
exclusive language is Spanish or who desire a culturally-adapted approach to treatment. This group is facilitated by a
mental health professional fluent in Spanish. Whenever there
are an insufficient number of participants to form a group,
individual therapy can be provided. |

Partners
of Sex Offenders
|
Therapy is available for persons
living with, or who are in or were in a relationship with, a
person who has committed a sexual offense. Whenever there are a
sufficient number of participants, a Partners' group is formed.
The partners' therapy is designed to help
people deal with their feelings about the abuse, to understand
the impact the abuse has had on their lives, and to obtain the
information and support they need to facilitate their healing
process, including exploration of their own victimization, if
that has occurred. Additionally, the partners will learn to
understand the offender process and be alerted to the warning
signs which indicate that a reoffense may occur. The partners
will also clarify, when appropriate, the future of their
relationships with the offenders. Support and protection of
child victims will also be addressed when relevant.
Partners, victims, and family members can
receive services at Alpha even if the offender is not
participating in any of Alpha’s treatment programs.

Female Sex Offenders
|
| Recent research has indicated that
approximately five percent of the reported incidents of sexual
misconduct are perpetrated by females. While it is uncertain
whether or not the occurrence of sexual offenses by women is
underreported, there are issues of intense shame and ostracism
which female offenders frequently experience. It is preferable
to address these issues in a setting separate from male
offenders. At the same time, many of the dynamics underlying
female sexual perpetration are similar to the better known
phenomena associated with male perpetrators. Alpha provides
individual therapy for female offenders, and whenever there are
a sufficient number of females participating in the program,
group therapy is provided. |
