PHASE® Program History
The Program for Healthy
Adolescent Sexual Expression (PHASE®) is an outpatient,
family-centered program for the assessment and treatment of
adolescent males and females who have behaved in sexually
inappropriate or victimizing ways.
PHASE®
was created in 1981 and earned a national reputation for the
treatment of adolescent sexual offenders. In addition,
PHASE® became known for providing professional training and for
conducting relevant research on adolescent sexual
perpetration. In 1997, PHASE joined the outpatient sex
offender programs offered under the administrative umbrella of
Alpha Service Industries, Inc.
PHASE®
provides quality treatment options to adolescent sexual
perpetrators in the Minneapolis and St. Paul metro areas,
offering a comprehensive program of clinical services
including psychosexual assessment, sexuality education, and
individual, family, and group therapy.

| Referrals
can be made by a variety of sources, including courts, social
services, and parents. Presenting issues range from fairly
isolated incidents of sexual behavior to multiple inappropriate
contacts extending over a number of years. The behaviors
include sexual involvement with children, forced or
non-consensual sexual acts with peers or adults, sibling incest,
and non-contact behaviors such as exhibitionism, voyeurism,
obscene phone calling, use of internet sexual sites, and
fetish-related burglary. |
PHASE® Psychosexual Evaluations
| In
order to determine if an adolescent is appropriate for
outpatient treatment and what his or her
relevant treatment needs are, the adolescent must first
complete a psychosexual evaluation. The psychosexual
evaluation consists of a review of documents, interviews with
the adolescent and parent(s), psychological testing, and
collateral contacts with other involved professionals.
PHASE® therapists are available to perform this type of
evaluation, if one has not already been completed. |
